Wow talk about your perfect match between character and actor. Movieweb.com is reporting that Zack Synder is pursuing Oscar nominee Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises) for the role of General Zod in the upcoming Superman reboot.
Now to be clear Mortensen right now is just a "person of interest." Apparently he is trying to negotiate the part of the Huntsman in a new live action version of Snow White. If that falls through (or even if it doesn't) then serious talk will begin about casting Aragorn---er---Viggo in the role of the Kryptonian badass.
Acclaimed actor Terrance Stamp portrayed General Zod in the first two films and it's hard to believe that anyone could equal, let along top that performance. However, if anyone could do it my money is on Viggo. I mean how much does this guy look like General Zod? Seriously? And if you have any doubts about him playing a villain go watch The Prophecy with Christopher Walken. He plays the coolest, slickest Satan this side of the astral plain.
I tell you the more people I hear associated with this film the more excited I get.
