Now this isn't totally movie related but I just couldn't resist. After months of speculation regarding what Stephen King's next novel would be about (everything ranging from a new Dark Tower book to a sequel to The Shining) the public finally has an answer: JFK.
The novel entitled 11/22/63 will be released this year on November 8th and is upwards of a 1000 pages long. Rather than being a horror novel, King is instead delving into the world of science fiction. The plot revolves around a high school English teacher who travels back in time to try to prevent the JFK assassination and the consequences that may result.
JFK has been fodder for science fiction enthusiasts before. One of my personal favorites was the season premiere of the last season of Quantum Leap where Sam leaps into the body of Lee Harvey Oswald. It should be interesting to see King's take on the subject and how much of the novel will be based on historical facts.
I also am putting this post up because is there any doubt with the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK coming up in just over two years, that this novel won't get made into a movie? Unless Pennywise the Clown from It tears Hollywood to shreds, I'm betting this movie hits the theaters in November of 2013.
Sounds like I'll be reading my second King book ever.
